Congratulations to John J. Hopfield for receiving the 2019 Franklin Institute Award in Physics. The prestigious Franklin Institute Awards Program dates back to 1824, honoring the greatest minds in science, engineering, and industry.
Hopfield's award is cited for "applying concepts of theoretical physics to provide new insights on important biological questions in a variety of areas, including neuroscience and genetics, with significant impact on machine learning, an area of computer science."
The Franklin Institute Awards Ceremony and Dinner will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
