Available Funding

Princeton Neuroscience Institute has received several generous donations from alumni for undergraduate research senior thesis awards. These research awards can be used for purchasing research materials and supplies, human subject participant fees, and scans, but research awards cannot be used as summer internship funding for food, housing, or summer transportation

James M. Shapiro ’80 Fund for Undergraduate Research in Neuroscience

The purpose of this award is to help broaden and support the research of promising rising juniors and seniors in the field of neuroscience.


Nancy J. Newman, MD ’78 & Valerie Biousse, MD Senior Thesis Research Fund for Neuroscience

The purpose of this award is to provide funding in support of the senior thesis in the field of neuroscience. The winner(s) of the award will receive funds to use for expenses related to completing the senior thesis.


Sanda & Jeremiah Lambert ’55 Fund for Undergraduate Neuroscience, in Honor of Clare Lambert ’08 and Hilary Lambert ‘10

The purpose of this award is to support the research of promising rising juniors and seniors in the field of neuroscience.


Students in the Neuroscience Major are eligible to apply for PNI senior thesis awards during the Spring semester of Junior year. Award applications should include: dates of the project, description of research/project summary, a budget showing how the student plans to use the funds, who the student intends to work with/lab in which they plan to work. All applicants will be notified by email.
